Jubilee Celebrations 2022

HRH Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee was celebrated on Thursday 2nd June 2022 at Sowerby Methodist Church. A wonderful afternoon was shared by more than 40 people who enjoyed a film produced by Yorkshire Film Archives detailing visits made by the Queen to Yorkshire and the North East during her 70yrs reign. Everyone received Sparkling Elderflower Fizz on arrival and the film was followed by the singing of the National Anthem and a delicious Afternoon Tea. The celebration finished by announcing the answers to the Royal Quiz which had been on every table, and watching the video of "Rise up and Serve", a song specially written for the Jubilee. The church had been decorated for the occasion with bunting, flags and flowers. Thanks were expressed to everyone who had contributed to the success of the afternoon. God Bless the Queen!
